Samsung is a multinational South Korean company which is known to be one of the World’s biggest Consumer Electronics manufacturers. As per the 2012 statistics, Samsung generated revenue of $268.8 Billion (USD), hence making it one of the biggest and the most profitable company.

The company started its operation in 1938 as a trading company, and for thirty years they had their focus on textile, insurance, security, retail and in food items. In the end of 1960’s Samsung also jumped into consumer electronics. Besides that, company also made its mark in shipping, construction, Aerospace surveillance and Defense industry. Samsung runs a number of other Subsidiaries under its banner, some of them include:

In 1983, finally Samsung jumped into Mobile phone business, and they launched their first mobile built-in car phone in 1986 which came out as a total failure; however the company planned to stay in this business and develop their technology more by following the path of Motorola, some say at that time Samsung “tried” or actually “did” copy Motorola’s technology in order to overcome where they were lacking. Finally after 2 years Samsung was able to make its very first handheld mobile phone in Korea, and from that point, their legacy begins! However they were only able to sell out one or two thousands mobile phones every year.

Samsung launched its very first Samsung Galaxy phone in June 2009, and it offered a good number of features as compared to any other phones that were in the market. However the only problem with the phone was its lack of firm ware update, which infuriated Samsung Galaxy users. This was the very first Android based phone offered by Samsung. Besides Samsung Galaxy, Samsung also launched Samsung Galaxy Spica in November 2009.

Samsung Galaxy S (Also known as Samsung Galaxy S1)

After Samsung Galaxy’s huge success, Samsung launched its second Galaxy Smartphone which is known as Samsung Galaxy S. Samsung Galaxy S was launched on 4th June 2010 and till 2013 they were able to sell 24 Million handsets. One of the most distinctive things about Galaxy S was that it came up with the fastest graphical processor, which was not available in any of the smart phones of that time. Besides that, it was also the slimmest.

Samsung Galaxy S2

After the massive success of Galaxy S1 phone, Samsung launched its Galaxy S2 phone on 2nd May 2011. As per the statistics of January 2013, S2 was able to sell more than 40 Million handsets. Just like its predecessor, this phone also came with a good number of improvements, and this is one of the reasons why it was widely accepted. Before S2, Samsung also launched Galaxy Ace, Fit, SL, Gio, Mini, Prevail, Pro and Neo in the similar year (Feb 2011 – April 2011) and Samsung Exhibit 4G, Z, S Plus, R, W, M, Y, Precedent, XCover, Note and Lexus models after the launch of S2 (June 2011 – November 2011).

Samsung Galaxy Note (Also Known as Galaxy Note 1)

After the far and wide success of Samsung Galaxy, Galaxy S1 and S2, Samsung launched its very first power packed Samsung Galaxy Note phone in October 2011. This phone was the biggest as compared to the phones of that time, however till mid of 2012 only 10 Million units were sold, which are far less as compared to its predecessors, but still very high as compared to the leading phones of that time.

This series introduced the S Pen in this phone, via which one can use his Note phone with all the ease and a number of applications were designed only to be suited for the S Pen. This was surely one big innovation in this massive phone.

Samsung Galaxy S3

After the massive success of its predecessors, Samsung launched Samsung Galaxy S3 on 29th May 2012. This phone surely became an untimely success, and this is mainly because Samsung got 9 Million preorders of this phone while till 14th March 2013 Samsung was able to sell more than 50 Million handsets, and thus S3 was included in Samsung’s 50 Million Club!

S3 came with a slogan of “Designed for Humans (inspired by Nature)”, and it was surely bought by masses by “Humans”. This new series offered another 64 GB of internal storage space which was surely massive and eliminated the need of having an external memory, but still Samsung offered an external memory of 64GB in this phone, hence allowing it to be a one powerful phone.

Samsung Galaxy Note 2 came out with a slogan of “Be Creative. Be Different.” as this phone came with even more powerful S Pen offering Air View feature. It was released on 26th September 2012 and till 25th September 2013 it was able to sell more than 30 Million handsets, which is surely a great achievement by Samsung. This Note 2 was more powerful than all of the previous Note and S Series phone in every way!

Samsung Galaxy S4 was launched on 26th April 2013 and is known to be another successful phone. Samsung was able to sell 20 Million Galaxy S4 in just two months and till now more than 40 million units are sold worldwide. This phone offered biggest screen size and unmatched features, hence beating all of the Smart phones.

It came with the slogan of “Life Companion”, and it surely is, as this was known to be the most powerful phone offered by Samsung till now. Whether it would be camera, screen size, processor or anything else, this phone is truly exceptional. Besides that, Samsung also launched its S4 Active and Zoom series. Samsung Galaxy Round

Curved screens phones have been rumored in this mobile phone industry for a couple of years, and finally on 10th October 2013 Samsung surprised the crowd with the world’s first curved screen Smartphone known as Samsung Galaxy Round. Samsung only launched only a few handsets in Korean market in order to test its market worth and durability that whether this phone will be able to survive day to day wear and tear or not.

Samsung Electronics are surely regarded as best when it comes to consumer electronics and Smart phones, and this is mainly because of the fact that they offered everything to their users what they have promised.

Now for 2014, Samsung is planning to launch a good number of Smart phone including Samsung Galaxy S5, Galaxy F, Samsung Galaxy Wrap-Around and Samsung Galaxy Note 4 in the last quarter of 2014.
